IMMERSION PICKLING AND SPRAY PICKLING AT OUR FACTOTY
The corrosion resistance of stainless steels is based on the so-called "passive" oxide layer on the stainless steel. When processing stainless steel, this passive layer is damaged and stainless steel can rust in this condition. In order for the passive layer to form again, stainless steel must be pickled and passivated after processing.
For this process, we have built a large pickling and passivation plant with its own sewage and neutralization plant. The waste water is thus cleaned, passed into the sewage system with a neutral PH value and the contaminated sludge disposed of in an environmentally sound manner. All components manufactured by IST are pickled and passivated after their processing so that we can guarantee the permanent corrosion resistance of our products.
